All aboard Odenton’s approach to housing

Gov. Wes Moore and others in Annapolis are pursuing a variety of strategies to promote new construction, but this month marked an especially notable changing of tracks — as they say in railroading — for one Anne Arundel County community. The Maryland Department of Transportation has given the green light to two developers to turn a 10-acre parking lot at the Odenton MARC station into transit-oriented development with 585 housing units as well as retail and public spaces. The developers, Homes for America and Questar Properties, have agreed to make at least 26% of those units affordable or workforce housing.
